Visibility IV / V
A small hazelnut. I will now publish this with the tag Shadow of the Earth when something like this is going on, but of course this situation is not quite explained now. I thought if the guards wanted to come up with theories about what a miracle gave birth to such a situation. For myself, this was the first "mystical red wedge on the horizon" I saw of its kind. ;)
I'll update the story later and maybe add pictures. But if I would go for a moment like this first. : D
EDIT: I added two pictures. The first image is the original and first published and was therefore taken at 11:14 p.m. Figure 2. was taken earlier and Figure 3. later.
As many have speculated, this is indeed an effect caused by a twilight ray (I added a tag). In this case, the whole sky to the right of that red wedge was in the shadow cast by distant clouds. So only that red wedge-shaped area was visible from the resistance.
In Figure 2 (photographed before the main image). a single counter-cloud radius stands out, or perhaps that too is already a twilight ray. Later, the shadow then covered a much wider area. In Figure 3 (photographed after the main image). the situation has already begun to unfold and the area in the shadows is not so clearly demarcated.
The shadow of the earth is not an on / off phenomenon, because the atmosphere, which is not completely transparent, casts its own shadow, which is visible in the direction of the resistance. Thus, on the other side of the sky, a shadow can emerge even when the Sun has not yet completely set.
So in this case, there was nothing particularly miraculous or rare. Except in that, for me, this was the most accurate lone strip of heaven, into which the colors of the resistance could emerge while the rest of the sky was overshadowed by distant clouds.
