It was night. Repos could be seen already after nine in the evening, but they were difficult to photograph, there was so much light. A possible diffuse proton arc became visible already at the beginning of the evening. It remained in the sky for a commendable long time (perhaps as much as one hour?) until after the northern lights corona it was no longer visible. An exciting night, sometimes the shapes and colors were so bright that you could actually screw the opening, you wanted to burn it. At the beginning of the set, a couple of really tall pillars appeared in the sky. They traveled across...

When I got to the sea ice place, I was faced with about 3 arcs and clouds and fog. To the west, something strange began to appear in the arc. Above the aurora borealis, a green...arc appeared? Next, I heard a strange, really loud sound. It was about 10:15 p.m. Like a cannon shot, except it went on..and on. After the sound, a while passed and a diffuse, green arc from the splash rose into the sky. I photographed shapes for a while. Then on the horizon, i.e. further to the west, a pulsing green spot appeared. A green, diffuse-seeming aurora began to stretch out of the pulsating splash. In the en...

A very spectacular night. 28 Perseids and see and experience Mynämäki Tarvainen as a filming location for the first time. We had a cloud raft stuck on the coast and the weather maps looked clear to Mynämäki, so we went on a Perseid hunt somewhere much different than we were supposed to. Sometimes you have to deviate from the familiar route. On the way there, the excitement was brought by moose and deer, which frolicked around quite admirably, and on the way we could hear the calling of a badger. On the way home, the Kauris felt too close. Wow, how startled. Fortunately, the clouds cleared to t...

Perseid night #1, Perseid, something else, what, satellite? If the jury doesn't think this is perseid, then you can tick it off as a milky way image :) The first night of sea ice was crushing, my husband and I saw a total of 20 Perseids. There was also a lot of other scrap, e.g. satellites. This picture was such that I myself am on that cliff so I can't see behind me. The man said that something flashed in the sky, but he wasn't sure if it was a small ball of fire or something else. Nothing else caught the cell tonight, but the evening was a success :)

A distant twinkle greeted the night tramper when I parked the car on Suotie in the neighboring village. I looked at the radar - from a descriptive point of view, those flashes of lightening at sea are too far away, but in the west there was a long band of clouds that, with a really good luck, could be activated for a while. I followed the direction of Uusikaupunki with a side eye, composed the night clouds into pictures and clicked on the blog to capture at least the night ones, I think the rest will be out of reach this night. The beginning of Horton's headache twinkled behind the eye and...

Tonight's storms started from the east-northeast direction in low waves, appearing very early, at 23:45. From there they quickly spread into a uniform wide belt which eventually broke into three parts. The bright side of the east with its waves, the waves and waves of the middle part that are just getting brighter at that time, and the very pale gauze in the west form a stark contrast to the night sky. In the beginning, the night cloud belt ran almost vertically at the zenith, starting from the northern horizon. It later somehow "turned around" from that, spreading even more at the same ti...

A nice trip to a nice place :) Pamprinniemi in Pyhämaa, which belongs to Uusikaupunki, was the destination this time. We walked to the end of the nature trail to the rocky promontory together with my spouse and at the same time admired the old anvil on the side of Mariehamn, which even got excited to use it once. This time's vypits was not a very inferno-bright or extensive show, but it contained surprisingly bright areas in places and the main thing was that you could bring home from such a long trip in the form of pictures. The rocks had rope-looking guys in the rocks, they are former er...

I came to a friend's place for a barbecue and sitting in the evening, when I noticed the beginning of night clouds low in the north while I was driving. I decided to refuel the car and watch the show for a while before leaving for Høyhensaari. In the end, I drove to the parking lot and took a few pictures as a memory. The play brightened up quite well, but clearly fell short of the brightness and scope of the previous night. Now, I'm not sure if there were nooks in the direction of the east as well, and I didn't notice to take the screen in that direction, because the set on the no...

A long night cloud began to appear in the south-north direction well before midnight. And by the way, a very spectacular play was born out of these. the west side was a bit short at my shooting location at Untamala church and I have to say that swinging with the wide angle was surprisingly tiring, the area is the size of a postage stamp. However, I have promised the Laitila congregation some pictures, so now was a good opportunity to fulfill the request. There were really bright waves on the west side, but the usual cloud was also pushed from the sea in one single buckle. The belts in the east...

During the day, it started to look like the set was falling apart. And yes, now the lightning season has started! The mammatus clouds at the end were the dot on the "i".

Well, NOW let's get to the point! A light evening walk gave birth to the beginning of a night cloud show starting from the southeast side to the south. I flashed a few pictures in my eyes, I had visited the places earlier in the summer. I knew that wild lupines grow in them, which are an unbeatable combination in night cloud pictures. The show of illuminating night clouds was on the "difficult" side of the sky in terms of composition and my subjects, it caused a bit of a headache and the lens also had to be changed as the evening progressed. Pretty, but the brightness of the nightstands wa...

Tomorrow, crazy pictures from the night. I didn't expect such a wide and intense start.. Edit.smart pictures added. The spectacle began to take shape in the sky before midnight (at 11:48 p.m.) and when returning home from an evening walk with Riku, we wondered whether the fibers appearing in the east/southeast direction were aircraft debris or perhaps the beginnings of night owls. Thoughts were exchanged with Matias Takala, and Matias defended the yökkös at the very beginning, when the signatory still hesitated. I finally went home to pick up the shaker and during that time the sky was ful...

Every year we do a trip with the ears of spring on the combo Juha-Riku-Pike. This time we went as a group to watch the shooting stars of the Lyrids and at the same time end the Milky Way season. I hunted down the owner of a farm in Kaariai and got permission to shoot there as a test. Nothing but people and things in the car and to observe. Upon reaching there, a delighted sigh could be heard from the mouths of three people; already the sickle of the Moon was worth seeing, in addition the planet Venus could be seen really handsomely. The outbuilding of the farm fit nicely in the pictures. These...

At the end of the shopping trip, at least a 22-degree tire and a sidewall appeared in the sky, but does the jury see something else in them? Delightfully bright halo show, albeit quite short-lived.

I edited more pictures for fun. It was again a really exciting looking revelation. Tonight was the fourth rocket launch at me, but every time seeing something like this is an impressive experience, a revelation of almost supernatural proportions. I chose the lens for the evening so that I faced the foreground, the main object was the rocket. The camera is stylishly in winter time, but the rocket was not visible to us until 23:03 and the van was still visible at 23:11, but after that the clouds arrived, which lasted until the next morning. The last frame is the husband's handwriting - good ...

A byproduct of Repokytis after the clouds have cleared the sky :) Barium clouded people and people from Repo. (Photographing the launch itself was a dream this time, as we had to start changing the shooting location due to the conditions) Barium blue was visible for quite a long time in the pictures, until 20:53. Even after that time, there was a vague amount of blue in the aurora borealis, so the actual duration of the color in the sky must have been at least twenty minutes? #raketti: IM/IO (Improved Malemute Improved Orion) #BRORkiruna
