As the evening got dark, it looked like there would be no aurora borealis today, but at ten in the evening they appeared in the northern sky, from where they rose higher during the one-hour observation session. At first, only a calm aurora arc was visible, but quite quickly it turned into an active aurora belt, where rays and other movement were visible. The lower part of the Northern Lights belt was green and the upper parts were red and purple. Towards the end of the observations, moisture started to collect on the surface of the objective lens, which I got rid of temporarily by turning the ...

I was describing the starry sky when I noticed a bright satellite moving in the west-west sky behind the trees. I didn't know it at the time, but at the computer it turned out that I had accidentally photographed the International Space Station ISS. There was also a satellite moving higher in the sky, which, despite all efforts, remained unrecognizable (I don't know in which direction it was moving, but the track would have cut through Joutsene if I judged it so suddenly). The second one is a more clarifying picture of the stripes. It's a shame in itself that there was no advance i...

As for the aurora borealis, the early night started mostly with a calm arc of the aurora borealis, where hardly any movement was visible. After midnight, a slightly more active phase began, when rays and other movement could also be seen in the Northern Lights belt. I actually stopped filming when the sky started to retreat into cloud cover.

The sun of the star hobby day had already gotten quite low, before the sky cleared enough that even the sun could take pictures. However, spots still stood out quite nicely from the fuzzy pictures.

On Sunday, after nightfall, I would go for a little walk outside with my camera in the hope of seeing the northern lights or something else. The only greenery was the reflection of the Seinäjoki Ideapark in the eastern-northern sky, so I decided to look at Heavens-Above to see if any suitable satellites would become visible. It was there, between Lyra and Herkules the CZ-4C R/B should go, so the camera to the hall in that direction. And as soon as I visually noticed the movement of the aforementioned satellite where it was supposed to be, I recorded its movement in the sky with a couple of suc...

Less than an hour before sunset, the side suns and solar pillars could be seen in the upper clouds in the western sky. The first picture was taken with Samsung's own camera program, the second with Open Camera in RAW format (which was then converted to JPG), the third was a RAW picture taken with Canon (which was also converted) and the last one was a JPG produced by Canon. Apparently RAW gives the best result, especially on a mobile phone, the difference might not be that big on a smartphone (except maybe in terms of the color scheme and adjustment margin).

In the variable cloudiness of the afternoon, the Sun was sometimes hidden behind the lower cloudiness, and in the upper cloudiness, colors were also visible.

While photographing the sun, I noticed a brownish "ring" around it in the distance, so I had to interpret it as Bishop. Later in the afternoon there was no sign of it.

By next week, it seems that a new spot will emerge, let's see if there will be a big jellikkä or if it will remain medium-sized.

After a somewhat freezing night, the prevailing weather in the morning was pretty much foggy, and since the Sun was shining in the sky, you had to go to the edge of the field to see if you could see a fog arc. Seen.

Nothing really comes of this now, when the sky is almost overcast again during rest periods, although otherwise it has been quite clear all evening and afternoon.

The indexes looked good, so I decided to take the camera outside despite the weather in the hope of repos. It wasn't a spectacle with this cloudiness, but at least something was visible.

Based on the camera clock, around 23:00, a satellite passed above the driver, which I interpreted as the Nadezhda 3 rocket stage based on the HA tables.

In Swan Deneb and North America, the bright line of light passing from the left side of the nebula is most likely NOSS 3-2 (A). Of the two dim lines running between Lyra and Joutsen, one is probably the Cosmos 1110 rocket stage, I couldn't find out about the other while browsing the pages of HA.

A little before half past eleven, I went out for a walk with the camera and it looked a bit like the aurora borealis could be reported as mostly a calm arc based on the unspeakable greenness. At eleven, however, a slightly more active phase began in the northern sky, so the "waiting" was rewarded. However, the active phase only lasted maybe ten minutes, after which it was a bit calmer.
